The Executive Committee

The Executive Committee consists of the officers of the Ontario Town Democratic Committee.  Below are the currently elected officers of our committee.

Jim Switzer, Co-ChairmanJames Switzer - Chairman
My participation in politics in Ontario started 35 years ago as a campaign manager for a local town campaign and our supervisor candidate lost by one vote!!
Over the next several years, participation and leadership roles in community, service and political organizations have introduced me to the importance and value of public service and community leadership.
As a lifelong resident, I have strong ties to our community and the importance of effective and responsive leadership. I am pleased to work with the many diligent, enthusiastic and dedicated volunteers in the Democratic Party in our community..
Virginia Molino, Co-Chairman
Virginia Molin - Co-Chairman
I am a life-long resident of Ontario and graduated from Wayne Central School, Nazareth College, and the University of Rochester with a Masters' Degree in Educational Administration. I retired from Webster Central School District and am currently the co-director of the TAP program at the Hochstein School of Music and Dance. This program is geared for young adults with disabilities ages 21-30.
I have always had an interest in politics and have been actively involved on the local and county level. I have attended town board meetings for the last five years and have kept abreast with the policies, procedures and issues. I am committed to promoting a two party system and a bipartisan board where all perspectives and opinions are heard and respected.
Nan Mazzuco, Vice Chairman/State Committee RepresentativeNan Mazzuco - Vice Chair
I grew up in a small rural town on Long Island and moved to the Rochester area to attend college in 1975, and graduated from the State University of Brockport with a Bachelor of Science degree.
My work experience has been in the business sector in operations and marketing, where I worked 26 years for both private and public companies as Director of Operations and Marketing, responsible for the development and implementation of market plans, operating budgets, training programs and sales. I have worked with and supervised diverse groups of people and directed the management of multiple locations.
I am passionate about public service through the exchange and implementation of good ideas. I believe in advancement of jobs, lower taxes, the streamlining of Government and the retention of value oriented services in our Town, County, and State. A particular area of interest is  in the development and practical application of renewable energy in our Community and Statewide.
Fred Compertore, TreasurerFred Compertore - Treasurer
My reasons for getting involved are simple: as a history teacher for 34 years, I always told the kids to get involved and I feel I should practice what I preached.  I joined the Democratic Party mostly because my neighbors were involved with the Democrats, and I believe that a viable opposition party is necessary for our government to run properly, especially at the local level.  It is one of the non-written checks and balances in our system of government that we saw work, quite well, at a national level in the last congressional election.

Cheryl Legg, Secretary
Cheryl Legg - Secretary
I became interested in the Ontario Town Democratic Committee in 2007. This was the year my husband, Roger, ran for Town Councilman, At Large. When I received David Miller's (Chairman) email to the Ontario Town Democratic Committee asking if anyone would be interested and willing to take on the responsibility of Secretary, I quickly volunteered for the position. I thought, since my husband was one of the candidates running for office, what better way to keep abreast of what is going on. I find working with the candidates, as well as the members of the committee, to be a rewarding experience and am glad to be a part of the team.
